New Arizona Testing Regulations
Starting November 1, Arizona is requiring testing on all marijuana products. Most states have adopted this as the standard, however historically there have been some hiccups during the transition.
Here at Nova Dispensary, we are working with our vendors and preparing to make this improvement with the least disruption possible.
WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU
At Nova, we have always provided products that are tested for potency, mold, solvents, and more, but this new five-panel test is significantly more stringent than most Arizona brands have been able to provide to date. In addition to potency and terpenes, the new testing requirements include metals, pesticides, and microbials which are important to avoid for your health and safety.
To date, there are only a handful of approved labs to handle testing of marijuana products in Arizona, and these tests are expensive – up to $500 for each product batch – so this may force an increase in price from some of our suppliers.
While we aren’t sure exactly what things will look like on November 1, the Nova team has been communicating with our suppliers and working to get fully tested products on the shelf as soon as they are available.
